Happy New Year, fandom!
Welcome back for another year of TFFA. This year promises to be a busy awards season, and we're excited to get started. Several changes have been made to the staff, Rules and Categories pages, and nominations forms.
First, the staff. Please help me welcome Cheryl Sunshine to the TFFA Staff! Cheryl will be our Social Media Manager, and her organizational skills will allow our validators to fill in some blanks and keep the nomination announcements painless. Thank you in advance for all of your help, Cheryl!
Hilary has also been promoted to Head Validator. For the past few years, she has taken on additional tasks to make the validation process cleaner for all involved, so it was a no-brainer to make things official. Thank you, Hilary!
Second, the Rules page. As of today, January 1st, the Rules and Categories pages have been updated to include more details and specifics. PLEASE review them again. Please note that the Rules page will update again later this week (before nominations open). Hopefully, these updates will make it easier to navigate the awards itself, and help clarify the guidelines and criteria for the nomination forms.
Finally, the nomination forms. The nomination forms have been updated to include all of the new information provided on the Categories page. Additionally, for the categories that do not allow for repeat wins*, ineligible authors and stories will be listed with the criteria. We hope these changes will reduce the number of disqualifications performed during the validation process. The final update to the forms is the addition of social media requests at the bottom. While they're not required to submit your nomination, any information you provide would be extremely helpful. (Social media is collected for purposes of notifications and announcements.)
Thanks for joining us again on what is sure to be a great year!
*The only categories that allow for repeat wins are Cliffhanger, Da Vinci, Fandom 411, Fangirl, Fic Pimp, Fic Pimp Site, Grammar Guru, Mister Rogers, Screener, Scribbler Alliance, and Veteran Author
